I’m a journalist because I believe storytelling can make a difference—whether big or small—in a community. My experience includes reporting on life and culture as a fellow for syracuse.com/The Post-Standard and serving as editor-in-chief for CSUSM’s student newspaper, The Cougar Chronicle. I was honored to be a 2023 Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow and a 2022-23 Newhouse Diversity News Fellow.

As a first-generation Mexican American from Oceanside, California, I am excited to join the Lookout Santa Cruz team and contribute to the community through impactful reporting.
