I became a journalist because of my passion for human connection. Through the stories I help create and the ones people share with me, I find a deep sense of connection, which I believe is one of the most beautiful aspects of this work.
I’m originally from McAllen, Texas, though I was born in Houston and raised in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I became a full-time reporter in 2019, but I have also been a freelance writer and translator since 2018. My translation work has appeared in publications such as The Texas Tribune and The Guardian, and my writing has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, Vogue Mexico, Harper’s Bazaar, and more.
