Florence Middleton

Florence Middleton is a biracial Asian American photojournalist and documentary photographer focusing on the themes of women and community. Through her work, she hopes to share new perspectives and challenge assumptions. Florence has a decade-long background as an accomplished program manager executing international education and gender equity projects in South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Jordan, Cambodia, India, Laos, and Vietnam – in collaboration with local leaders and stakeholders. This experience has equipped her to skillfully navigate photo stories within a diversity of complex settings.

Florence is based in Oakland, CA and was born and raised in the Imperial Valley.
