“I am a multimedia journalist based in San Francisco but originally from San Diego. My passion for journalism happened simultaneous to my political awakening during the 2016 election. Seeing the way that the media reported and impacted Latino communities that I grew up next to made my journalistic mission clear – help amplify the voices of often overlooked communities. Ever since, I’ve focused my reporting on politics and the intersections it has on the working class.
Prior to becoming a fellow, I worked at KQED where I reported daily news for radio and worked on a long term project about San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. Before that I was at El Tecolote where I spearheaded “The Pueblo’s Agenda,” a hyperlocal 2024 election project focusing on district elections for the city’s Mission District. Both experiences helped shape my journalistic passion into one that is community driven. ”
